OT Prophecy


Seed of a woman

~ 4,000 BC

(Gen 3:15) I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.


Seed would bless all families of the earth

~ 2,024 BC (Abram at age 75)

(Gen 12:3) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 

(Acts 3:26) Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you °


Be Abraham's seed

~ 2,000 BC (Abraham at age 99)

(Gen 17:7-8) And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant ...

(Gal 3:16) ... thy seed which is Christ.


Judah's scepter remains until Shiloh come

~ 1,810 BC

(Gen 49:10) The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.


Called out of Egypt

~ 740 BC

(Hos 11:1) When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.


Be born in the Judean town of Bethlehem

~ 700 BC

(Mic 5:2) But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah ... of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.


A child to be born

~ 700 BC

(Isa 9:6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: ... The mighty God, ... The Prince of Peace.


Born a king in the line of David

~ 700 BC

(Isa 9:7) Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David ...


Born of a virgin; His name is "God with us"

~ 700 BC

(Isa 7:14) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.


Many infants murdered at His time

(Jer 31:15) Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel (Rachel) weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
